The origin of this variety is highly controversial, some believe that it arose from a natural cross between Black Riesling and Traminer, while other scientists believe that Pinot Noir comes directly from wild vines.
In the 1990s, this theory was not ruled out. Pinot Noir wines have a ruby red color with violet reflections, they are considered top wines with the possibility of long aging. When young, they have a fruity aroma, while as they mature they acquire aromas of walnuts and almonds. Fruity scents of cherry, cherry, strawberry, blueberry, accompanied by the scent of almonds in the background and aging in barriques, join the scents of vanilla and cinnamon. This harmony of aromas makes it the king of red wines. This grape variety produces the most expensive red wine in the world.
The Mikić winery grows Pinot Noir on an area of one hectare and for several years we have been trying to create a red wine that would not disgrace this variety. We only dared to take this step in 2015, when Negotin Krajina had 2355 hours of sunshine and the grapes were of perfect quality and ripeness. After a year in Serbian oak barriques and 6 months of aging in bottles, the Mikić winery has set itself the goal of conquering the hearts of lovers of this royal wine all over the world.
Slightly chilled at 16-18˚S, we recommend Pinot Noir wine with game and lamb dishes.

Vis Pinot Noir – Mikić Winery
Pinot Noir is the noblest grape variety, it is mainly grown in Burgundy (F) as well as Chardonnay, which is why it is better known to us as Burgundy. It is a very old variety that has existed for perhaps 2000 years. Its cradle is the canton of Valais, the region between Lake Geneva and the Rhone Valley in France.
